Olivetti - Jasper Morrison - Linea Printer
The Linea range was for home and small-office use and therefore needed to be as unobtrusive as possible. This was achieved with a rotating front panel that presented the controls and revealed paper exit routes as it opened.
This would happen automatically if a print was sent which animated the product. When not in use the panel could be closed to provide a form of visual modality that allowed the printer to recede into the background and await its next job.
