Responding to the move towards flexible and shared workspaces VG&P identified a gap in the market for a chair that provided comfort for extended periods of work – without the complexity and excessive adjustability associated with traditional office chairs.
Taking a cue from Machinists Chairs the HD (Hot Desk) plywood chair consists of a visually simple plywood seat and back connected with two plywood supports.
This visual simplicity hides an incredibly responsive and finely tuned construction that combines the flexibility of the plywood supports with carefully calibrated rubber connections between all elements.
Developed during a lengthy period of collaboration with VG&P this unique construction responds without the need for adjustment and provides all day levels of support and comfort.
Although important for the workplace, the unusual combination of a complex comfort with a visual simplicity has found the HD chair at home in restaurants and domestic environments.
The chair is designed with optional plywood arms on either a swivel or stackable base, and in a range of wood and upholstered finishes
