Motorola - Dot Telephones
A family of cordless handsets for the global market.
Designed with a distinct stance and clean graphic layout this project was about developing a simple character that can sit quietly in any context.
The form widens at the lower back to accommodate batteries while also providing an ergonomic grip and stability when standing.
This stance also allows the front to recline politely and face the user.
The screen, keys and graphics sit on a tight grid that is broken by the main navigation key.
Based on a mature technology this project allowed a focus on stripping back the design for simplicity and usability to provide a longevity in function and design.
