This is a small aluminium occasional table developed with Studio Feay in Santa Barbara.
Fabricated from folded anodised sheet aluminium, the table is formed from three identical parts, each with three folds. These three elements are bonded together using VHB high-performance adhesive tape.
The folding process, with its resulting details, drives the design language of this piece, with exaggerated bends and highlighted edges travelling in distinct and divergent directions.
The product was selected for Michael Young’s 2016 exhibition Al[l] at the Grand Hornu in Belgium.
